ALUMNI Partners is pleased to announce Iskander Binashev’s joining the firm as a partner of the dedicated PPP Practice along with a team of lawyers specialising in public-private partnership (PPP) projects.
For over 12 years, Iskander has been advising clients in the areas of public-private partnerships, procurement procedures, and project financing, representing the interests of all key parties involved in PPP transactions, including financial institutions, both Russian and international investors, and government authorities.
Prior to joining ALUMNI Partners, Iskander spent more than 10 years in the Moscow office of a major international law firm. For the last two years, he led the Infrastructure, Construction and PPP Practice at an independent firm that spun off international office of this firm. His main clients included national financial development institutions and large financial organisations.
Iskander has been individually recognised by the leading Russian legal rankings such as Pravo-300 in categories “PPP/Infrastructure Projects”, “Transport Law”, “Real Estate, Land, Construction”, and Kommersant in “PPP”, “Transport and Logistics” categories. He is also a member of the Expert Council of the Association of Infrastructure Investors and Lenders, participating in expert evaluations and the development of legislative changes in the PPP sphere.
The team joining ALUMNI Partners includes:
- Olga Ermakova, Senior Associate, specialising in legal support for PPP and other infrastructure projects, as well as advising on obtaining government support measures. Previously, Olga worked in international and Russian consulting firms, as well as a state-owned company. Olga is recommended by the Pravo-300 ranking in the categories "PPP/Infrastructure Projects" and "Transport Law."
- Elizaveta Malokostova, Associate, specialising in legal support for PPP projects and has experience in dispute resolution. Previously, Elizaveta worked at the National PPP Center, an expert organisation for PPP development in Russia.
- Oleg Popov, Associate, specialising in legal support for PPP projects, structuring, and supporting transactions in the development and construction sectors. Oleg has more than 12 years of experience gained in construction holdings and Russian law firms.
The experience of Iskander’s team in the field of public-private partnerships will significantly enhance capabilities of ALUMNI Partners, launching a dedicated PPP Practice with leading market positions.
In the area of project financing, Iskander will work closely with ALUMNI Partners' Banking and Finance Practice partners, Igor Zhivotov and Tatiana Parshak. In the field of infrastructure projects, Iskander’s team will complement the expertise of the Real Estate & Construction Practice partners Vitaly Mozharowski, Rustam Aliev, and Yuri Chernobrivtsev.
